MySMB is an independent, video-first media brand for New Zealand small business owners. We want you to finish every episode a bit braver and a lot clearer on what to do next: short videos, each written up in full, and a free brief at 6am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

We make it for the person running the business, not for economists, investors or the press gallery. If it doesn't help you make a better call this week, it doesn't make the cut.
Inspire, then show how.
Every episode starts with what's possible and ends with what to do. Short videos for the idea, a full write-up for the detail, checked against official sources and dated.
Honest about money.
MySMB is paid for by sponsors and, soon, by Insiders members. Sponsored segments are always labelled, and sponsors never shape what we cover.
Kiwi through and through.
NZ rules, NZ dollars, NZ businesses. If a story only matters in Sydney or San Francisco, it's not for us.
Editorial standards
Who makes MySMB
MySMB is an independent New Zealand publication. Our editor is [Editor name], who is accountable for everything we publish. The editor stays off camera, like the rest of us.
No host, real guests
There's no presenter. The brand is one narrator's voice, one look and one way of explaining things. When you see a face, it's a guest: an owner, an accountant or an expert, named on screen. Interviewers stay off camera and their questions appear as text.
AI is labelled
Some visuals, and possibly the narrator's voice, may be made or assisted with AI tools. When they are, we label it on the video and on the episode page, and follow each platform's disclosure rules. Any cloned voice is used only with the speaker's written consent and licence. A person writes or checks every script and every fact.
Sponsored content is labelled
Sponsored placements, explainers and Presented by series are marked as sponsored wherever they appear. Sponsors approve their own copy but never our editorial, and they never see subscriber data.
Sources and dates
Every episode lists the official sources it relies on, such as IRD, business.govt.nz, Employment New Zealand and the Department of Internal Affairs, and shows when it was last checked. It's general information, not financial, tax or legal advice.
Honest about what's ready
We're pre-launch. Episodes marked In production have their full guide published and the video on the way; titles marked Coming soon are planned. We don't show view counts, durations or testimonials we don't have.
Spotted a mistake?
We'd rather be corrected than wrong. Email hello@mysmb.co.nz with the page and what's wrong. We aim to reply within two working days. If we got a fact wrong, we fix the episode page, add a dated correction note at the end of it, update the “Updated” date, and say so in the next brief if it matters. Videos that can't be fixed get a pinned correction and, if needed, a re-cut.
